Irregular Periods: You Can Rectify the Situation by Taking Suitable Steps

If you suffer from irregular period condition, there is nothing to worry about. Irregular period is one of the most common medical condition afflicting women of all ages. The condition manifests especially after menstruation cycle starts in women as it takes time for hormones to get stabilized. On the other hand, irregular periods may also occur in women who are approaching menopause and are the other extreme of their menstruation cycle.

There are a number of reasons for irregular period. Pregnancy is the most visible reason and so is the period immediately after pregnancy. You may miss a period if you are pregnant and it is better to test the same before concluding that it is really the cause for missing the period.

Apart from pregnancy, there may be a number of reasons for missing your period or having an irregular period condition. If you are overweight, chances of having irregular period cycle are much more than those of normal weight persons. Similarly if you are suffering from blood deficiency and general weakness. Eating disorders such as anorexia are also found to be a cause for irregular period and should be best guarded against.

Enhanced levels of stress, too much of exercise, suffering from liver diseases, tuberculosis and sometimes diabetes are also found to be responsible for irregular period condition. Irregular periods are not a disease or illness. They are a symptom of something afflicting your body or mind and hence should be taken seriously.

However not in all cases, irregular periods are really abnormal or harmful. For example in cases of breast feeding immediately after delivery, women have irregular patterns in their periods and there is nothing abnormal about that. Similarly if you miss your period once in a while or all of a sudden there is an irregular pattern therein, no need to panic. A majority of women have to face such instances during their menstruation cycle and may not be considered too serious is the condition is not persisting for too long.

There are a few things that are in your hands to tide over the irregular pattern in your irregular period pattern. Many a time taking vitamin supplements helps especially if such a condition is a result of vitamin or iron deficiency. Make a diet plan for yourself and add as much nutrition to your diet as possible and depend on natural supplements and nutrients to help you in the process.

Follow a moderate exercise regime and make it a point to remain active in life. This way you can address some of the most common causes of irregular period. However if the situation persists, it is better to consult a gynecologist who can prescribe medicines to bring back the regularity.
