Quality Family Time

Spending regular quality family time is crucial to maintaining a healthy family. Quality family time should involve activities that are meaningful to children and parents. Even spending one meal a day together can be quality family time. Seize everyday moments to connect with your children.

Once a week, plan something specifically to have quality family time. Quality family time does not just benefit the children. Parents will feel more connected to their children, and they will understand their children better. This ultimately will make parenting easier, and it is always easier to lay a good foundation by giving your children a good example, than later trying to rebuild.

The importance of quality family time

  • Bonding of the family- really getting to know each other
  • An opportunity to be a role model for your child
  • Teaches your child about relationships, how to be an individual, how to love, how to deal with loss, how to share, how to accept responsibility, and how to make decisions
  • Helps build the child's self-esteem because they feel important and loved
  • Helps create harmony in the family
  • Teaches children by example what behavior is appropriate and what behavior is not
