Screening Tests
Prevention is key to living long and living well. Getting regular check-ups, preventive screening tests and immunizations are among the most important things you can do for yourself.
Tests

| Full Check Up | Discuss with your doctor. |
| Digital Rectal Exam | 40-50 years of age. |
| PSA | Start at age 40-50. |
| Skin Exam | Monthly self mole exam and yearly exam by doctor after age 40. Exam by doctor every three years before age 40. |
| Oral Exam | 1-2 each year. |
| Vision Exam | Once initially between age 20 and 39, then every 2-4 years. |
| Hearing Test | Starting at age 18, then every 10 years. |
| Colorectal Screening | After age 50 unless there are problems. Fecal occult blood yearly. Flexible sigmoidoscopy every 5 years. Colonoscopy every 5-10 years. Double contrast barium every 5-10 years if not doing colonoscopy every 5-10 years. |
| Blood Pressure | Every 1-2 years starting at age 21. |
| Cholesterol Test | Every 5 years starting at age 20. |
| Thyroid Test | Every 5 years starting at age 35. |
| Blood Sugar | Every three years starting at age 45. |
